See Their Story: How One Property Manager Upgraded Kitchens Faster Smarter and For Less

Updated: Sep 17

My name is Michael Donnelly. I manage construction for properties up and down the East Coast and I have been in this industry for more than 15 years. I first heard about nuDoors through one of our contractors and to be honest I was not sure what to expect. Refacing cabinets instead of doing full remodels was not something we had tried before.

The Challenge

We decided to test it on one of our toughest properties kitchens that were over 25 years old. Normally that would mean:

• A major CapEx hit

• Weeks of downtime per unit

• Residents displaced and units sitting vacant

That was not a path I wanted to repeat.

The Solution

With nuDoors we locked in portfolio pricing and upgraded kitchens one unit at a time as they turned. That meant no big capital outlay all at once and no disruption to tenants.

What impressed me most is that this is not the old refacing method where cheap laminate gets glued to cabinet boxes. nuDoors paints the boxes and installs brand new prefinished doors.

The result looks factory new it is quicker it holds up and it is backed by a warranty.

The Results

• Kitchens over 25 years old modernized without full remodels

• Upgrades completed unit by unit as they turned with no disruption

• Factory new look that improves leasing and resident satisfaction

• Portfolio level pricing that keeps projects on budget

And because nuDoors has Certified Installers nationwide I know the work gets done consistently wherever our properties are located.

What Michael Says

“For us it has been a smarter way to modernize kitchens staying on budget keeping units occupied and avoiding the disruption of full remodels.”

The Bottom Line

nuDoors gives property managers and construction leaders a new playbook for upgrading kitchens. With portfolio pricing certified commercial installers and a system designed for scale it is possible to modernize communities faster smarter and for less.
